NAKED IN THE STORM

Add a bit of rain
from the tears I have shed
and then the thunder
from the breaking
of my heart
perhaps there is
the hail from the stubborness
I have held onto
then the snow
from the pure thoughts
I used to have about love
Then there are
those pesky clouds
that keep the darkness
ever present
And then the tornado
that swept me away
when we met
Did we invite the hurricane
on the horizon
Tell me you brought
an umbrella
and maybe
I'll find the escape plan
that I have always held
in my hands
But did you notice
we were naked
standing on this bare field
So I guess there's nowhere
to run or hide to
Do me a favor
and pray for the sun
if you won't hold
me any longer
