IN THE CITY OF GOSSIP

In the City of Gossip
green eyed people
with loose
slithery tongues
pry into other lives
to experience their fake
enjoyment that
is short lived
so they feed
on more of the news
that keep their world afloat
in the world
of innocence
where one
that is targeted
by the gossipers
feel their every move
criticized
if they are weak
to the ill wishing arrows
they may fall into
the river of dispair
but the ones
who pay no mind
to the lunacy of evil
can detour to the land
of achievable dreams
where they can pursue
life's abundant goodness
where the busybodied
lonely wretches
cannot truly see
because
they cannot ever see
beyond
their own misery
